Bill Maher interviewed Bill Moyers last night on Real Time on HBO. As always Bill Moyers perspective of the current state of chaos within the Democratic and Republican parties was spot on. What Moyers had to say about health-care reform was powerful and after watching the interview I believe stronger than ever that those working behind the scenes to prevent it, Democratic or Republican will in the end meet their politcal demise.
During the interview Moyers also discloses something about President Obama that shocked me because I was not aware of any agreement he had made or that one had taken place. I believe most of you will feel the same way on that point, but watch for yourself I’m not going to spoil it for you. Here it is in 3 parts:

The piece Moyers mentioned by Glenn Greenwald of Salon “Even The New Republic now calls for a party purge of corporate-owned “centrists”is a great read, to which I must sayAmen! One point by Greenwald that stood out.
More important than all of that is the fact that there is one principal reason that Blue Dogs and “centrists” exert such dominance within the Party: because the Party leadership, led by the Obama White House, wants it that way and works hard to ensure it continues.
It sickens me to think that even with our huge Democratic majority in Congress, Wall Street, Corporations and their lobbyists are still in control of our government and lawmakers. Greenwald also has a follow-up piece about the interview including a partial transcript, you can read here.
I voted for Barack Obama. I beleived Barack Obama. Now I want to hold him to his campaign promised.
He cannot cripple us by being beholden to the same corrupt principles he seemed so genuinely to oppose..He MUST break his tie a via contributions to Insurance Companies for example. WE WANT A PUBLIC OPTION

THAT’S WHY WE ELECTED HIM. SAY NO TO MILITARY ADVISERS WHO WNT MORE TRROPS IN AFGHANISTAN. GET OUT OF AFGHANISTAN. AND ABSOLUTELY FIGHT TO THE END FOR THE PUBLIC OPTIION IN HEALTH. i AM SHOCKED THAT THIS PRESIDENT HAS “CUT DEALS” WITH INTERESTS THAT DO NOT GIVE A DAMN ABOUT THE AMERICAN PEOPLE!!!!!!!
George you are 100% correct. I too was shocked by his behind closed doors agreement with pharma. Hell I thought we had learned our lesson with Cheney and his energy policy. We all are paying a huge price for that and yet we still don’t know who attended that meeting. Something has to give.
